Allison is a miracle worker! I had been dreading the daunting task of organizing my basement storage room. It had become a dumping ground for a wide range of household items and incredibly dusty. To make matters worse, our home’s AC air handler had its intake in that room so despite changing the filters regularly the air never seemed fresh.
Allison was able to come and assess the types of items and designed a storage plan using my existing shelves and plastic bins. She recommended removing everything from cardboard boxes which ended up with two shelving units worth of stuff fitting on only one of them. Her organization was so impressive that I decided to finish off the room and divide it into two spaces–one for entertaining supplies and holiday decorations and the other side a workshop.
Now that the project is done my allergies have improved so much that I stopped having to take allergy medicines (was taking Zyrtec and Flonase before). Plus, it’s so much easier to find a platter or flower vase now that everything is out of boxes and in a glass front storage cabinet. Overall, not having the prior mess in the basement has made the whole house calmer and healthier.

Thank you so much for taking the time to present a June Spring Cleaning Workshop with the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs. Your presentation was engaging, helpful, and exactly what we needed at this time. This talk not only taught us how to declutter our technology and our physical spaces, but also provided us with ways to de-stress and take care of our mental health. Our members joined from all over the country and had such a positive experience with your presentation that they encouraged us to invite you back for more tips. I can tell that Neat Rules will definitely be a staple blog for many of us. We learned so much from you and are looking forward to learning more in the future.

We hired Allison about 8 months ago to help us manage our small 2 bedroom apartment after having a baby and feeling that our house was completely disorganized and chaotic. We didn’t know how exactly how we could use her expertise to help make our lives better but after our consultation Allison gave us the confidence that she can help us be happier and more organized in our space. We set up a date and she came over and we all got to work- what I liked is that she gives you the option to be as involved or not in the session. We opted to participate and part of what makes that hard is that it’s actually really hard to let go of stuff and that is where Allison’s value really shines. She treated our session like therapy. Talking us through why we didn’t want to let go of a particular item and then making us realize that we actually didn’t need it. This is how the entire session was and at the end we made tons of progress and really organized a few spots that would make our lives easier. She also taught us how to do the exercise even when she isn’t around and we have and it’s helped maintain all of our hard work and keep it tidy. Allison is extremely talented and good at what she does and I’m so glad we hired her to help organize our home and streamline our process. I recommend her without any reservations and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Allison and her team at Neat Rules are superb! I needed some major purging/reorg/redesign work done and I m so happy I found her. From our very first consultation we were able to map out what needed to be done and devise a work plan that allowed us to tackle different zones of my home without any major disruptions for the rest of the family. Given the scope of work and the fact that I have two young daughters, this was critical. Also, she understood my desire to declutter and simplify our lifestyle, and was the perfect blend of stern, warm, and energetic that I needed to get through such a big job. She is a really thoughtful and hard worker, has a great eye for design, and most importantly LOVES WHAT SHE DOES! It was such a joy to work with her and to have her energy in my home. I loved the work the work Allison did, they transformed my bedroom from a disaster site to a tranquil room, that it is great to rest in. Neat rules, although a little pricier than what I was expecting, it was worth it.

I had moved from a five bedroom home into a one bedroom apartment. After one year, I still had unpacked boxes and desperately needed assistance. Neat Rules worked with me for three days and set me on track to live in the kind of orderly environment I wanted. They went through every closet, shelf and draw organizing things by category and freeing up space. They unpacked boxes and set up work stations by category that would allow me to make decisions on what to keep and what to give away. Thanks to their organization I had a place for everything. Now I have a home where I can relax and invite my friends.

Allison and her team were so incredibly helpful in teaching me how to declutter and tidy up. I had been putting off decluttering for quite a while because it felt overwhelming, especially in a small Brooklyn apartment that I share with my boyfriend. Being a fan of the Marie Kondo method, I really needed a specialist to guide me and help me finally get organized. I can actually say I enjoy folding towels now because of Allison’s process and professionalism. I suggest doing any “homework” that she mentions prior to her visit – that way you can maximize the time you have with her and work efficiently. Alison is a real trooper! She and Maxine really work hard to make other people’s living spaces organized and a refuge to come home to! She is an expert in space management and is very compassionate in how difficult it cane be for people to let go of things they are hanging on to that they may need to let go to reduce clutter. She is also very creative in the best ways to display and keep family heirlooms and those things people just cannot let go of because they are so dear to them, while allowing the space to achieve that open and welcoming feel. I personally truly appreciate her wonderfully creative ideas, her patience, her joy and tenacity to stick with the tasks. I am very impressed by her in every way. She is prompt and she communicates very well with me as her client. She is also flexible and works very well with me as far as scheduling hours. I truly enjoy having her and Maxine to help me!
